Chapter 2. Getting started

Installing Software

This section contains a step-by-step description on how to start using the AVR ONE! in conjunction with AVR32 Studio 2 and an Atmel AVR32 device mounted on an EVK1100 or EVK1101 board. In order to use the AVR ONE!, front-end software must be installed. For debugging AVR32 targets, this implies installing the following components:

  • AVR32 GNU toolchain (command line utilities for compiling and programming)

  • AVR32 Studio 2.0 (GUI for interactive debugging)

Both of these packages can be installed from the Atmel AVR Technical Library DVD (included with the AVR ONE! kit) or by downloading them for free from www.atmel.com/avr32
